President Ed Greenebaum, P.E., started in private practice in 1984. Greenebaum Structures, P.C., has been located on the square in Manheim, PA, since 1997. Stephanie Berkheiser has been in charge of CAD production for 10 years and Deb Wolf has been office manager for 8 years. Jason Slobozien, P.E., and David Clark II, EIT, both Penn State graduates, have been on-staff since 2004 and 2005, respectively. We specialize in structural engineering for buildings. While most of our clients are architects or contractors, all of our clients receive quality professional engineering on time at a fair price. We take pride in listening to our clients and in understanding their business as well as ours. Our structural engineering services fall into three broad categories: 1. DESIGN: Comprehensive design tailored to the client's program and financial objectives, including structural design/frame type, calculations that apply building code requirements to buildings (and an occasional bridge or other structure), and comparative analysis of structural systems to maximize load/spans/materials/value analysis. State-of-the-art software includes RAM, Enercalc, Struware, BarJoist, and TJ Beam. We produce drawings in AutoCAD 2006 and prepare structural notes/specifications. For many projects we also respond to questions from building code officials and contractors, review structural shop drawings, and periodically review construction progress. 2. FEASIBILITY STUDIES: Review of existing buildings prior to renovation, or the conceptual structural design of new buildings. Our client may be a buyer looking for objective technical analysis of structural conditions or load capacity, an architect or developer looking at adaptive reuse of the building framing, a contractor pricing proposed additions or renovations, or an entrepreneur planning a new facility with optimal structural systems. 3. FORENSIC: Review and analysis of damage to existing buildings and structural systems for insurers, owners, or property managers. Causes of damage may include snow, wind, blasting, vehicle impact, fire, or overloading. Services may include report preparation, assistance in mediation/arbitration, or expert testimony in litigation.
