Ashbridge Barn Adaptive Reuse, Exton, PA
Caldwell, Heckles & Egan, Inc. and Bernardon Haber Holloway Architects adapted this historic Chester County stone barn into a new $2.3 million commercial building adjacent to the Main Street at Exton retail center. The stone walls were retained, and Greenebaum Structures designed new steel-framed floors and a new trussed roof, due to advanced deterioration of the barn’s timber framing. Wendell August Forge operates a retail facility and working aluminum forge on the lower level. Offices or a restaurant are planned for the upper level.
